OUR MISSION
For millennia, animal meat has been a valuable part of most people’s diets. Global meat consumption is rising, and as we move towards a population of 10 billion the question is not how to get rid of animal meat, but how to make more meat without farming more animals.
Animal agriculture is a leading cause of greenhouse gas emissions, land degradation and biodiversity loss worldwide. Growing plants to make meat allows us to take CO2 out of the air and put it back in the soil to directly tackle climate change.
We love meat, and we are on a mission to make meat delicious, nutritious and sustainable for generations to come.

DELICIOUS FOOD
Eating less meat shouldn't mean giving up the dishes you know and love. We've designed v2 to look, cook and taste like meat so that you can keep enjoying your favourite meals in a way that loves the planet back.
GOOD FOR YOU
Meat is a nutritional powerhouse... so we copied it! When you eat v2 you can rest assured you get the same hit of protein, iron, zinc, phosphorus and vitamins B12, B3 and B6 as beef mince plus a healthy dose of dietary fibre and naturally no cholesterol.
GOOD FOR THE PLANET
We are working towards the ambitious goal of making v2food a carbon negative company, and are constantly revising our processes to minimise our carbon footprint and the other resources we use to make our products. Because sustainability is at the core of everything we do - from plant to plate.
THE v2 JOURNEY
v2 Takes Plant-Based Meat Mainstream
In the summer of 2021 we launched our first ever brand campaign inviting Aussies to come together under a label we can all agree to. Introducing: Taste-a-tarian™! A diet that consists of tasty and delicious food. Because whether you’re a vegetarian, pescatarian or just love meat, there’s one thing we can all agree on… We’re all Taste-a-tarians™!
The v2sausage is born!
We wouldn't be an Aussie company if we didn't have a snag you could throw on the barbie! In 2021 we expanded our product range and debuted the herby, juicy v2sausage just in time for long weekend barbecues, and the people have been loving them ever since!
v2 Launches in Supermarkets
Our signature v2mince and v2burger patties launched in Australian supermarkets in August 2020, debuting in Australia's largest independent grocery retailer Drakes Supermarkets stores across South Australia and Queensland.
v2 Goes Global
People just can’t get enough of our Rebel Whopper! In February 2020 we began supplying Burger King New Zealand. Kia ora, cuz!
Scaling Up
Feeding 10 billion is going to require some pretty big kitchens. We invested AU$20M to set up a processing facility in Wodonga in regional Australia, and are continuing to expand and invest in our proudly Australian team.
Bringing v2 to You
Once we had products ready to go there was no stopping our roll out. After launching in the Rebel Whopper burger at over 400 Hungry Jack’s restaurants across Australia, we debuted a signature v2burger at Soul Burger restaurants and a range of smaller outlets.
The First v2burger
After v2food was officially founded in January 2019 our team went to work turning beans into burgers. It only took 56 attempts and a few all-nighters, but eventually we cracked it - a burger patty that sizzled on the grill, melted in your mouth, and tasted like that one thing we’d all been craving - meat! And not a can of chickpeas.
The Lightbulb Moment
Our population is forecast to hit 10 billion people by 2050. If we continue to eat meat at current rates, we would need 2 planets to grow the animals to satisfy this demand. Our founders realised making meat directly from plants instead was a way to avoid this looming food security crisis, while also helping to restore our environment.
